The Printing Table

About Dana

I’m an artist based in South Gippsland, Victoria, working from a small studio attached to a farm shed, looking out to green paddocks, cows and Wilsons Prom. This place shapes my work. It’s quiet, real and full of space to play.

I create one-off monoprints—each a unique impression that can’t be repeated. I’m drawn to this medium because it allows for spontaneity and surprise. Colours shift, shapes blur, and what begins as a clear idea often transforms into something new. I like that. It reminds me that art doesn’t need to be perfect to feel true.

My tools are simple: a gel plate, acrylic paint, rollers, and shapes cut from found or recycled materials. I’m not formally trained and I see that as a strength. It frees me from rules and keeps my process playful and intuitive. My work is about exploration, joy and the moment something unexpected appears on the plate and makes me smile.

Right now, I’m creating monoprints for material, bags and vase casings — small pieces of art that carry a sense of place and personality. This medium feels like home and I’m excited to keep following where it leads.
